After providing family caregiving for her father who suffered a major stroke, our Care Coordinator, Gretchen Messenger, committed herself to helping families cope with and coordinate care for disabled loved ones.  Gretchen’s passion led her into the Long-term care insurance business for decades where she learned the nuances of LTC insurance policies and learned that care must be structured correctly before successfully obtaining long-term care insurance benefit claims.  Gretchen brings her pleasant way with clients, her passion and her knowledge to help our clients plan to direct their care and incapacity plans.

Gretchen is also the President of the nonprofit, Who’s Watching Mom?, Inc., whose mission is to assist clients in directing, controlling and informing their individual care in the event of incapacity.  She has been instrumental in developing the Game Plan for Aging™ and the Game Plan for Caregiving™ that are clear, comprehensive client statements and plans providing client control and direction towards issues of aging.  These two innovative tools may help inform a client’s legal documents by providing clear directions about a client’s housing wishes, instructions about driving as people age, the type of “health” care people desire, and much more.
